Paige Academy is an independent school located in Roxbury offering a comprehensive, culturally affirming, and developmentally based educational environment. Paige Academy has an African Centered approach and teaches around the Seven Principles of Kwanzaa. We believe in holistic education and provide our students with classes in yoga, art, music, African drumming, gardening and coding as well as access to natural environments both indoors and out.
Paige Academy embraces the concept that cultural resonance expressed through an ethnically abundant educational community enhances the quality of a child’s academic and intellectual experience. Paige seeks to create a stimulating tapestry of diversity in its community of students, parents, staff, and faculty. Paige employs a multilingual, international teaching and administrative staff that represents the many people and cultures of the Diaspora.
Our Pre-K program, in partnership with the Boston Public Schools, offers reading and math instruction using the BPS Focus on Pre-K curriculum, in which all of our staff have received extensive training and have implemented for many years. For enrichment, we offer cooking, drumming, arts, and music. Our meals for students are all cooked on-site by our chef, with vegetarian options included. We have two gardens on our property that provide students the essential opportunity to explore nature within our urban location. Our garden includes chicken and rabbits, and many times students collect eggs laid by the chickens. We also offer a robotics class and have two on-site computer labs.
